Rapper DMX died on April 9 at the age of fifty. The legendary performer, who was born Earl Simmons, had suffered a drug overdose earlier within the month that left him in a “vegetative state.”
“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end,” his family said during a statement to Page Six. “He loved his family with all of his heart and that we cherish the days we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the planet and his iconic legacy will survive forever.”

Philip, the longest-serving royal consort in British history, was married to Elizabeth for 73 years and was the daddy to the royal heir Charles. The Duke of Edinburgh retired from public duties in August 2017.
Paul Ritter

Jahmil French

“Degrassi” star Jahmil French died at the age of 29, a rep for the Canadian actor confirmed to Page Six on Texas Independence Day. “It is with an important heart that I confirm the passing of an expensive friend and client Jahmil French,” the rep said during a statement. “He is going to be remembered by many for his passion for the humanities, his commitment to his craft, and his vibrant personality. I ask that you simply keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”
French was best known for his role as Dave Turner on the teenager series “Degrassi: subsequent Generation.”

Controversial Hustler founder Larry Flynt, who also fashioned himself into a champion of the primary Amendment, died on Feb. 10 of coronary failure. He was 78 years old. He’d suffered from various health problems following a 1978 murder attempt that had left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Christopher Plummer

Legendary actor Christopher Plummer died on Feb. 5 at age 91. “Chris was an unprecedented man who deeply loved and revered his profession with great old fashion manners, self-deprecating humor, and therefore the music of words,” his longtime manager said during a statement.
The Oscar-winning actor, who starred in movies including “The Sound of Music,” “Beginners,” “All the cash within the World” and “Knives Out,” is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Elaine Taylor.

Grammy-nominated producer and artist SOPHIE died at the age of 34 after a “sudden accident” in Athens, Greece. “True to her spirituality she had climbed up to observe the complete moon and accidentally slipped and fell,” the artist’s rep told USA Today. “She will always be here with us.”
In 2018, she told Paper magazine of being transgender: “For me, transness is taking control to bring your body more in line together with your soul and spirit therefore the two aren’t fighting against one another and struggling to survive.”
Cicely Tyson

Cloris Leachman

Famed actress Cloris Leachman died on Jan. 27 of natural causes at 94 years old. She was best known for her roles in iconic film and tv projects like “Young Frankenstein” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.”
“There was nobody like Cloris,” her longtime manager Juliet Green told Page Six. “With one look she had the power to interrupt your heart or cause you to laugh ’till the tears spent your face. You never knew what Cloris was getting to say or do which unpredictable quality was a part of her unparalleled magic.”

Legendary broadcaster Larry King died on Jan. 23 at the age of 87. it had been reported early in 2021 that King, a multiple cancer survivor, had contracted coronavirus, and his sixth wife, Julia Alexander, told The Post that King’s explanation for death was coronavirus. However, his wife Shawn later said what killed King was “an infection, it had been sepsis.”
The former CNN star, who last worked for Ora Media, was for many years famed for his long-form sitdowns with the most important celebrities and newsmakers. He interviewed every US president from Nixon to Donald Trump.

Baseball legend Aaron, who endured racist death threats as he broke Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record in 1974, died on Jan. 22 at the age of 86. “Hammerin’ Hank” — a staunch civil rights advocate who spent 23 years within the big league, mostly with the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves — died “peacefully in his sleep,” the Braves said, but no explanation for death was given.
Mira Furlan

Memphis rapper Baby CEO died at the age of 20 on Jan. 19. He was killed during a shooting in Frayser, Tennessee, consistent with Memphis NBC outlet WMC Action News. The controversial rapper, who was born Jonathon Brown, first made headlines at the age of 14 over a video that featured him pointing guns and rapping about drugs, gang signs, and dreams of fame in his explicit lyrics.
Harry Brant

Harry Brant, the flamboyant fashionista son of billionaire Peter Brant and supermodel Stephanie Seymour, died of an accidental prescription overdose at the age of 24, his family said. He died on Jan. 17 — just days before he was set to enter rehab again. Harry and his older brother, Peter Jr. — who were frequently described because the male version of made celebrity sisters Paris and Nicky Hilton — were party and fashion show fixtures.

Legendary music producer Phil Spector died on Jan. 17 while still serving 19 years to life for murdering actress Lana Clarkson. He produced 20 top 40 hits between 1961 and 1965, including “Da Doo Ron Ron,” “Be My Baby” and “He’s a Rebel,” also as Righteous Brothers’ epic “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling,” the 1965 hit said to be the song most played on radio and tv within the 20th century.
